The University Soup Kitchen Is Charlottes first green food pantry. We were founded on the belief that there is enough waste in America to ensure no one goes without a meal. We recycle fresh meals from local restaurants and stores to serve those in need.

The University Soup Kitchen is an official 501(c)3 organization and the parent company of USK UNCC and and other subsidiary organizations (USK UNCC, USK JCSU, USK JWU etc). We have served thousands of meals since February 2014. We are proud to now serve over 1000 meals a month. Founded on the campus of UNC Chapel hill, we are a SMALL group of people who are passionate about ending homelessness. Over the past two years, through fundraising and community events we have served thousands of meals but there is so much more to come.

We currently offer relief to the citizens of charlotte via our "Mobile Help Center", "Agape Love" program, our USK Kids Club" and our Community Give Aways. We are also contributing to the efforts to help citizens in need as we deal with the Covid-19 crisis. We deliver non perishable goods and med supplies to families, and checkpoints where there are large populations of homeless.

By September 2024 we aim to connect the major university cafeteria systems (UNCC, JCSU, JWU, DUKE, NCCU, UNC, NCSU) to check points around extreme homeless populations across North Carolina, low income secondary education centers, after school programs, homeless shelters & other food-banks. We don't believe in just feeding people, eventually when funds permit we hope to have a community center that rehabilitates the homeless and employees them to serve others.

Why us?

We are a Non-Profit organization dedicated to feeding low income families and homeless citizens.

We aim to connect the major university cafeteria systems (UNCC, JCSU, JWU, DUKE, NCCU, UNC, NCSU) to check points around extreme homeless populations in the triangle, low income secondary education centers, after school programs, homeless shelters & other food-banks.
