Happy Spring 2024!!!! Do you need our help? Our Mobile Help Center delivers to you! Send us a text message (980)263-9348, answer a few questions and then we will deliver the things you need to get out of chronic poverty directly to your doorstep! The University Soup Kitchen Is Charlottes first green food pantry. We were founded on the belief that there is enough waste in America to ensure no one goes without a meal. We recycle fresh meals from local restaurants and stores to serve those in need.

We were created on the campus of Chapel Hill in 2013 by our founder Joshua Bridges. Based on a simple sighting of a friend tossing out edible food from UNC's Alumni Hall the idea of recycling resources was sparked, here we are 10 years later! We have started chapters at the local universities to ensure the community and the campuses are connected in this fight against chronic poverty!

We are Charlotte's premier mobile food pantry. We bring goods directly to those in need. We serve at pre set times on the weekends, & are open every day by appointment. In some programs like "Mobile Meals" we are targeting under served neighborhoods along the N. Tryon- S. Tryon Corridor like South Side Homes and Dillhey Courts Housing Projects.

Our Mobile food pantry was originally a response to Covid-19, we wanted to bring food to people affected financially by Covid-19. Our first family served had a new born less then a week old. We delivered baby food clothes and supplies donated by our generous supporters.

We now serve mobile goods- mostly groceries and baby supplies- Monday-Thursday by appointment. If you or anyone you know is suffering financially please contact us and we will serve you, we have served all zip codes in Charlotte and several surrounding cities and counties. We look forward to serving you. We also serve warm meals at checkpoints around the city with our SoupKitchenSundays , Mobile Market, Community giveaways and FreeFoodFridays give aways. Please email us if you would like to volunteer or donate, and please call(text) us if you need our services (980) 263-9348.

Covid-19: A message from our founder:

Good evening,

We are currently fighting hard to help those in need during this pandemic. We have been delivering goods directly to families in need by request, as well as check points where there are large pockets of homeless/impoverished citizens. We have seen an increase in demand as people lose their jobs and homes; while simultaneously seeing a decline in supply, as more people try to save themselves. With that in mind we could use your help with a financial or physical(non perishable goods, med supplies) donation to our organization.

To comply with social distancing we are only accepting physical goods by appointment email us: usk@universitysoupkitchen.org for appointments. We are accepting donations online at our website : www.universitysoupkitchen.org Or you can make checks payable to The University Soup Kitchen email us if you have questions: usk@universitysoupkitchen.org.

We want to continue to spread love and hope through these difficult times, more importantly we want to provide the resources needed for families in need right now.

Please help us help the community.

We need food donations, meats, non perishables, canned goods. We also need hand sanitizers, wet wipes, and basic med supplies like Tylenol, and hydrogen peroxide. We are accepting monetary donations if you don't want to risk contracting the virus, so please don't let social distancing stop you from contributing to our cause.

Lastly, we need volunteers. They have shut down the universities so we now have an extreme shortage of volunteers. Please email us if you want to help out with any of our initiatives usk@universitysoupkitchen.org

Never forget what it is that we do:

WE SERVE!!!!
